Abstract
With no doubt, paying attention to emotions in the organization is nowadays discussed as a
requirement of competitive markets which involves identifying the emotional state of the
employees of that organization and its effective management to control conflicts in the
organization. One of the factors which cause wasting manpower is interpersonal conflicts
that are followed by organizational and group conflicts. In this research, we have
investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence component and interpersonal
conflicts in the banks of the City of Ilam. The statistics society of this research was 850
person that based on Morgan`s table 20 managers and 205 employee were chosen as the
internal samples. Descriptive statistics showed that the average emotional intelligence score
was (102.75) for employees and (104.75) for managers which was respectively (8.75) and
(10.75) of standard score which is 94 and they were more than the standard score. The
statistical methods used in this research include: Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Pearson
correlation coefficient, Freidman ranking test and group T-Tech (Single T). Deductive
analysis results showed that, in ranking emotional intelligence components, management and
emotional intelligence control components are more important among managers and
employees than the other components. Among interpersonal components, the relationship
between conflict factors and employee was very important. There is a positive meaningful
relationship between emotional intelligence components in employees and managers with
each other and also there is a meaningful relationship between interpersonal conflicts among
employees and managers, but among managers there was no relationship between conflict
factor with manager and conflict factor with employee. There is a reverse positive
relationship between emotional intelligence components and interpersonal conflicts factor
among employees but not among managers.
