چکیده:
In this study, sweeping gas membrane distillation process (SGMD) has been used for desalination and its performance index, defined as the product of the distillate flux and the saltrejection factor, has been modelled using neuro fuzzy system (ANFIS) methodology. An ANFIS model has been developed for prediction of the performance index based on a set of 16 different experimental SGMD tests. The individual and interaction effects of the input variables, namely thefeed inlet temperature, the feed flow rate or the feed circulation velocity, and the air flow rate or the aircirculation velocity, on the SGMD performance index have been investigated. In ANFIS model membership functions were Gaussian and constant for inputs and outputs respectively. After selectionof the best model, the correlation coefficient (R2) and the root mean square error (RMSE) was obtained 0.995 and 0.0128 respectively. The results show that this model has an excellent performance on estimating the desalination by sweeping gas membrane distillation.
